VOICES of Black Women Optional Substudy
In addition to completing life and health history surveys 2 times a year, VOICES participants may be periodically invited to sign up for substudies.
Participants who sign up for the optional VOICES of Black Women Blood Substudy will give a small sample of blood and have their blood pressure, height, weight, and waist measured to advance the understanding of the risk Black women have for developing cancer and other health conditions.
Blood is a time capsule that can tell us about genetic ancestry, past or recent exposures, and future disease risk - information that is crucial to obtain in Black women who have been underrepresented in research.
